PERGAP Panel Series at ECSR Annual Meeting

Dr. Simone Schneider organised Panel Series on Public Policy, Attitudes & Political Behaviour

September 14, 2024

The DemoSoc Research Group of the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) successfully hosted the annual meeting of the European Consortium of Sociological Research (ECSR) from September 12 to 14, 2024. This three-day conference featured 64 sessions and two keynote speeches, drawing over 375 researchers from across Europe to the Ciutadella Campus of UPF, where leading sociological research was showcased.

As a member of the DemoSoc Research Group, Dr. Simone Schneider organised a stream of panels focused on Public Policy, Attitudes & Political Behaviour – key themes within the PERGAP project. Simone extends her sincere gratitude to the selection committee – Kenneth Nelson (Oxford University), Gosta Esping-Andersen (UPF), Tijs Laenen (KU Leuven), and Toni Rodon (UPF) – for their efforts in selecting submitted proposals and crafting a dynamic and engaging program. The panels featured eight sessions with 32 presentations on a range of topics, including public policy classifications and analysis, perceptions of inequality and preferences for taxation and redistribution, attitudes towards social policies, environmental issues and migration, and support for the political right.

We would like to thank all presenters for their valuable contributions, which inspired thought-provoking discussions.
